Press Release: Faces & Voices of Recovery Collaboration Announcement
July 23, 2018
Behavioral Health Association of Providers is excited to announce our newest collaborative partner, Faces & Voices of Recovery.
Faces & Voices of Recovery is dedicated to organizing and mobilizing the over 23 million Americans in recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs, our families, friends and allies in recovery community organizations and networks, to promote the right and resources to recover through advocacy, education and demonstrating the power and proof of long-term recovery. Faces & Voices of Recovery helps mobilize and organize supporters to raise the profile of the organized recovery community and educates and encourages recovery community organizations to thrive and participate in local, state and national policy arenas, deliver peer recovery support services; and mobilize the local recovery community.
The goals of Faces & Voices of Recovery are complementary to many of BHAP's goals, which include influencing laws and policies that enable recovery, health, wellness and civic engagement for people affected by alcohol and other drugs, and to reduce the stigma associated with people affected by alcohol and other drugs.
Our collaboration with strengthen the advocacy efforts of both BHAP Provider Members and Faces & Voices of Recovery community organizations. BHAP and Faces & Voices of Recovery are able to synergize their efforts to create a better impact on the ever-changing and important issues surround legislative action pertaining to addiction treatment and other behavioral health issues.
Behavioral Health Association of Providers (BHAP) is a national trade membership association that provides education and advocacy for behavioral healthcare providers and related entities. Behavioral health problems include substance use disorders; alcohol and drug addiction; and serious psychological distress, suicide, and mental disorders.
BHAP Membership provides confidence that providers are informed about compliance with changing legal regulations and industry best practices while reinforcing provider reputation within a network of ethical business practitioners. BHAP educational and certification opportunities build skills with higher-level learning designed for providers interested in ethical business practices and regulatory compliance and informing prospective consumers of the dedication the provider exhibits toward honest business practices. And BHAP Advocacy efforts encourage industry involvement and self-regulation by informing providers of legislative activity that will promote state and federal rules and regulations that benefit providers and those suffering from behavioral health illnesses.
Forged from a passion for behavioral healthcare service providers unable to absorb the high costs related to legal consultation, BHAP was founded in March 2016 to help small and mid-market healthcare providers access compliance resources and legal education to help their agencies thrive. BHAP has responded to its Member’s needs to offer advocacy, certificate programs, online and live trainings, consulting services, and standards development in addition to Membership benefits and higher-level education.
